Overview
The GPSA's CSG (Continuation Support Grant) program offers short-term financial relief to enrolled UNLV graduate and professional students experiencing sudden or unexpected financial crises. These include lost wages (reduced hours/job loss/furloughs), food insecurity/groceries, housing/rent insecurity, child/family care, medical expenses, and utilities. Grants will not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per recipient without approval from the acting GPSA President and GPSA Manager/Advisor. Applications without supplemental materials demonstrating financial hardship will not be considered. Please redact information from these materials you do not wish to be shared with the GPSA Executive Board and GPSA Manager.
Applications will be received on a rolling basis until funds are depleted. Students will be notified of the application decision as quickly as possible depending on the number of applications received.
The spirit of this support grant is to enable the student to continue their degree program and remain on track for graduation. These funds are deemed for emergency use only and financial need must be demonstrated in the application. The CSG application will close once funds are exhausted.
Eligibility
To qualify for the CSG, the student must be currently admitted to a degree program and enrolled in a minimum of one (1) credit at the time of the award. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be in good academic standing in accordance with their program/department, and have taken and completed at least six (6) graduate/professional credit hours upon application submission.
Preference will be given to students who have exhausted all other sources of available assistance (e.g. Graduate College Emergency Retention Grant (ERG), departmental funding and awards, financial aid, etc.).
