Audio and Video Settings in a Zoom Meeting

Summary

You can adjust your audio and video setting to your preference before and during a Zoom meeting.

Body

You can utilize the Mute/Unmute and the Start/Stop Video controls to adjust your audio and video sources.

Mute/Unmute

To mute or unmute, select the Mute/Unmute control. The microphone icon will indicate if your microphone is active or not.

To adjust your microphone and speaker selection, open the menu to the right of the Mute/Unmute button (1).

In the audio menu, you can:

  • Select which microphone you want to use (2)
  • Select the speaker you want to use (3)
  • Test your current speaker and microphone or leave computer audio (4)
  • Change more audio settings (5)

Start/Stop Video

To turn your video on or off, select the Start/Stop Video control. The camera icon will indicate if your camera is active or not. When your video is on, you should also see a preview of your video.

To adjust your video source, open the menu to the right of the Start/Stop Video button:

In the video menu, you can:

  • Change your video source
  • Blur your background or activate a virtual background
  • Choose a video filter
  • Adjust more video settings
