Using Google Assignments LTI 1.3 with WebCampus


With Google Assignments LTI 1.3, you can deeply integrate Google Drive editors with WebCampus.


HIPPA protected users cannot use this feature

Users with Google Workspace accounts that are protected by HIPPA restrictions cannot use this feature, per UNLV's Business Associate Agreement with Google. Restricted users include, but are not limited to: School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, SWRC and UNLV PRACTICE.

Features and Benefits

  • When creating a new WebCampus assignment, instructors can select Google Assignments LTI 1.3 as an external tool. This enables the following Google Assignment features:
    • Instructors can grade/store submissions in Google Assignment OR Canvas.
    • Instructors can attach Google files to an assignment so that each student gets their own editable copy to submit.
    • Instructors can utilize Google's plagiarism checker to view originality reports for student submissions.
  • Instructors can add Google Drive files to WebCampus Modules.
  • All users can embed Google Drive files in the WebCampus rich content editor.
  • Students can submit Google Drive files to WebCampus assignments (if enabled by the instructor).
  • Allows users to share or collaborate with others across Google domains (Rebelmail & UNLV Mail) without having to modify the share settings in Google.

Connecting Google Drive to WebCampus

Before using Google Assignments, users must connect their UNLVMail or Rebelmail account to their WebCampus profile

  1. In the left naviation of WebCampus, select Account
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under Web Services, select Google Drive
  4. Select Authorize Google Drive Access
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your UNLVMail or Rebelmail account to WebCampus

With Collaborations, multiple users can work together on the same Google Workspace file at the same time in WebCampus.
