The New Revenue or Spend Category service may be used to request the creation of a new Revenue Category or Spend Category in Workday. As it may take 7-10 days for the request to be activated in Workday after approval, it is pertinent your request contains accurate entries of the required information.

Please use this article as you fill out your request. Below, you will find information regarding the required fields to request a new Revenue or Spend Category Worktag

Requestor

  • This is the individual requesting the creation of the Activity Code. This individual will be contacted if further information is required.
  • This field defaults to the User logged into TeamDynamix, but you may select any active UNLV employee.

Acct/Dept

  • This is the high level department that the Requestor belongs to.
  • TeamDynamix will automatically populate this field based on who is selected as the Requestor

Proposed Revenue or Spend Category Name

  • This name will become the name of the worktag along with the RC/SC number assigned by Workday
  • This name will be reviewed to make sure it follows the naming guidelines 

Revenue or Spend Category

  • Select Revenue Category or Spend Category. Only one type of category may be requested per ticket

Description

  • Provide a detailed description of the purpose and reason for the new Worktag

Revenue or Spend Category Hierarchy

  • Please enter the appropriate revenue or spend category hierarchy

If Spend Category - Transaction Type

  • If this request is for a spend category, please indicate one or more transaction types that will be available to use in Workday. 
  • Options: Ad Hoc Payment, Expense, Procurement, Supplier Invoice

If Spend Category - Action Type

  • If this is a spend category request, please indicate the action types that will be available in Workday.
  • Options: Allocate Freight, Allocate Other Charges, Track Item(s)

If Track Item - Asset Type

  • If the spend category action requires an item to be tracked, please choose one of the asset types.
  • Options: Building, CIP - Software, Collections, Construction in Progress(CIP), Equipment, Fixtures, Fixtures – Building, Intangible – Depreciable, Intangible – Not Depreciable, Land, Library Books – Media, Library Intangible Media – Depreciable, Sensitive Equipment, Tenant Improvements

Final Worktag ID

  • The final worktag ID and Name will be added by Financial Reporting once NSHE creates the worktag in Workday.
