Alternatives to Adobe Acrobat

If you do not have access to Adobe Acrobat, there are some PDF alternatives that can achieve some basic functions of Adobe Acrobat. Changing your default PDF viewer can be done at any time by following the instructions found here.

Alternatives

Microsoft Edge (Recommended)

• Allows you to view and annotate PDFs using the top toolbar
• Does not offer full capabilities of Adobe

There are two ways to open a PDF in Microsoft Edge:

• Option 1 - Right-click on the file > Open With > Microsoft Edge
• Option 2 - Open Microsoft Edge, drag and drop the file into Microsoft Edge

Google Chrome

You will only be able to view PDFs using Google Chrome due to organizational restrictions.

There are two ways to open a PDF in Google Chrome:

• Option 1 - Right-click on the file > Open With > Google Chrome
• Option 2 - Open Google Chrome, drag and drop the file into Google Chrome
