When you open a DocuSign link, you will be asked to sign in with your ACE account to verify it is actually you who is opening and signing the document. If you sign in with your individual ACE account, or you were already signed in to ACE somewhere else, you may get an Authentication Error from DocuSign. This is because the ACE account you used to sign in did not match the email assigned to the DocuSign link. For example, for graduate coordinators who use are sent DocuSign links to their generic coordinator account, they must use their generic ACE account credentials when prompted.
How to open a DocuSign link as another user
Option 1. Open the link in an incognito window
- Right-click on the Review Documents link from the DocuSign email
- Select Open in Incognito or Private Browsing window
- Sign in with the ACE account associated with the email the document was sent to.
If you have more documents to sign, do not close the Incognito or Private Browsing window. Instead, open the additional links by right-clicking on the Review Documents link from the DocuSign email and selecting Open in Incognito or Private Browsing window.
Option 2. Sign out of DocuSign and ACE
If you receive the authentication error, you will need to sign out of both DocuSign and ACE to be able to switch users.
- Go to app.docusign.com
- Select your profile icon in the upper right
- Select Log out
- Go to ace.unlv.edu
- Select your name in the upper right
- Select Sign out
You should now be able to select the DocuSign link again. Make sure to sign in with the ACE account associated with the email the document was sent to.
Signing documents on a mobile device
To sign documents on a mobile device, we recommend downloading the DocuSign mobile app. Search "DocuSign" on your device's app store.
Once you have the DocuSign mobile app, sign in with your generic ACE account. You can then sign documents for this account in the app.
If you receive documents from your main email account, the app may warn you that it is not the right account. Select the option to open the document in your mobile browser which will allow you to sign in with your normal ACE account.
How to create a second browser profile
Many browsers support the creation of a second browser profile where you can sign in to your other ACE account. It's like installing a second browser on your device and you can dedicate that profile to using your generic ACE account. For example, if you would like to have the ability to toggle between your individual ACE account and your generic ACE account, you can add a second profile on one browser.
Once you create another browser profile, you can sign directly into your second ACE account and open documents though here.
