Zoom Add-On Marketplace Requests

An add-on is a program (usually developed by a third party) that integrates with another application to increase its features and functionality. Zoom add-ons work to enhance the Zoom experience for the user. Zoom works with numerous applications for scheduling, collaboration, translation, captioning, messaging, surveys, automation and other useful enhancements.

How to Submit an Add-On Request

In order to integrate a third-party app with Zoom, you must first request approval from the University, then install and configure the add-on from the Marketplace if your request is approved. To request a Zoom add-on:

  1. Go to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Select that app you are requesting.
  3. On the top right corner, click Request to Add
  4. Enter a reason for the request under Add reason (Optional)

The request will then be sent to UNLV Zoom administrators. It will then be listed is “Waiting Approval” until approved or denied.

Things to Consider

How is an Add-On Approved or Denied?

Requests are evaluated to determine if each solution meets the university’s (and federal) accessibility standards, the university’s data security standards, technical feasibility, solution redundancy, and other factors.

Funding approval is not considered as part of the request process, and app approval precludes funding sources. If the app is a paid app, the requester is responsible for acquiring funding.

How Long Does a Request Take?

Requests are submitted weekly, and reviewed monthly. It can take between 1 week and 1 month to complete request reviews, or longer if documentation or any other factors extend the process. You will be notified of the request approval or denial.

If the add-on is available for use, there will be a button at the top right that says "Add."

Does the Office of Information Technology Provide Technical Support for Add-Ons?

UNLV Office of Information Technology does not provide technical support for Zoom add-ons. Review the third-party provider’s documentation for support. Keep in mind that many free add-ons are not supported without paid services.
