Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is a program offered by Microsoft for UNLV Faculty and Students. This program was formerly:
- Microsoft Imagine
- Microsoft Dreamspark
This program offers Faculty and Students access to specialty software at no charge for academic use and include:
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Visio
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- Windows 10 and 11
- Windows Server
Eligibility
This program is available to all active UNLV Faculty and Students.
Software provided by Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is licensed for academic use only, and must only be used for coursework or research. This software cannot be used for production applications.
Enrolling
Step 1: Checking Office 365 Account
Before you can obtain software though this program, you must have an active Office 365 account using a UNLVMail or Rebelmail email address.
You can check if you have an account by going to portal.office.com and signing in with your UNLVMail or Rebelmail email address and your Office 365 password.
Your Office 365 password is not connected to your ACE account password, and may be different. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it it by selecting
Forgot my password during login, or by contacting the
IT Help Desk.
If you do not have an Office 365 account, you may self-enroll with your UNLVMail or Rebelmail address.
Step 2: Enroll in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching
Once you have a valid Office 365 account using a UNLVMail or Rebelmail email address, you can then enroll in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching.
- Go to Azure Dev Tools for Teaching enrollment.
- Select Sign In.
- When prompted, sign in with your Office 365 account using a UNLVMail or Rebelmail email address.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the enrollment process and accept the Terms and Conditions to activate your account for the program.
Accessing Software
Once you are enrolled in the program, software is available through the Education Hub in Microsoft Azure.
- Go to portal.azure.com.
- Search for Education.
- Select Education in the search results.
- In the Education Hub, select Software in the left menu. Then the list of eligible software is displayed in the right blade.
- Select the software you wish to download and use. Instructions and applicable license keys will appear in the blade that appears on the right.
Troubleshooting
You may not be enrolled in the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching program. Check to make sure you have a valid UNLV Office 365 account and follow the enroll instructions again.
If you see a limited amount of options in the Education Hub, you may not have accepted the Terms and Conditions for Azure Dev Tools for Teaching.
Try following the enroll instructions again using a different web browser. If successful, you should see more software titles in the Education Hub:
