Customizing Default Settings in Your Poll Everywhere Account

There are some settings you may want to automatically apply to any Activity you create.  To configure this:

  1. Log in to your Poll Everywhere account
  2. At the bottom of your left-hand navigation, select the Profile icon

  3. Under Profile, select Activity Settings

Now that you have accessed Activity Settings, you can enable the following:

Template Activity

You can set another Activity’s visual settings as a template for all future activities.

Pinned Q&A Activity

This Activity stays active in the background, even when you are presenting another one. This allows you to collect feedback throughout the presentation.

How Long Should Activities Remain Activated

Choose how long you want an Activity’s status to be “active” before they are automatically deactivated.

This can be as little as three hours to as long as one month.

Participant Screen Names

  • Ask participants to enter a screen name
  • Do not ask for a screen name; in its place, automatically-generated IDs are used to track responses

Default Activity Settings

The following, once modified and set, will apply to any new Activities you create. If you want these enabled for past Activities that you still use, you will need to edit them manually.

Each of these categories also allows you to select No Default Set. This allows you to freely customize specific settings that may differ from Activity to Activity.

Who Can Participate?

  • Everyone: Anyone who has the link/username can join
  • Restrict: Requires all participants to be registered

Hide Activity Title

  • Hide: Participants can only see the title on the presenter’s device
  • Show: Participants can see the title on their own device

Change Answer

  • Allow: Participants can change their answer after submitting
  • Do Not Allow: Participants are not able to change their answer

Web Responses Enabled

  • Allow: Participants can join the Activity via the web or the mobile app
  • Do Not Allow: Participants are restricted to responding via text messaging

Text Messaging Enabled

  • Allow: Participants can respond using text messaging
  • Do Not Allow: Participants are restricted to using the web or mobile app

Show Results

  • Show: Participants can see live multiple choice results on their device
  • Do Not: Participants will not see results on their device

Show Instructions or Results

Select between showing either the instructions only or results only.
