Accessing the File Manager in Faculty Web

You can upload files directly into your Faculty Website using the File Manager. You might do this if you build your website in a third-party editor.

Limited Support

OIT can only assist customers with accessing their File Manager or FTP credentials. Customer's must upload content on their own. OIT is unable to troubleshoot web content customer's upload to their Faculty Web account.

Faculty Web offers the ability to upload files directly into your hosting account. You may do this if you build your website in a third-party application, such as Adobe Dreamweaver.

Accessing File Manager from cPanel

  1. Go to your Faculty Web Dashboard 
  2. Under Files, select File Manager

  3. A new tab or window will open to access the File Manager
  4. On the left side of the “File Manager” window, you’ll see a navigation menu containing the file structure of your hosting account

Uploading Files with FTP

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) allows you to upload files directly to your website without using File Manager. You may use this with third-party applications to simplify the uploading process.

  1. Go to your Faculty Web Dashboard
  2. In the top menu, hover over Manage Your Account
  3. Select FTP Information

  4. Locate your connection information including your username to the left
  5. Enter a password to use for FTP in Set Password, then select Save

You can then take these credentials and configure your FTP client.
