UNLV IT Support Hub (Support Hub) is a quick access panel on IT-managed macOS devices that allows you to install common campus applications, locate important information about your device, and access support resources.
- Open Self Service (for Make Me Admin and Installing Software)
- Find your device name and/or model
- Find your IP Address
- Contact the IT Help Desk
Opening Support Hub
Support Hub should automatically appear in your menu bar as the UNLV gear icon. Select the icon to open Support Hub.
If you do not see the icon in your menu bar, launch the application by either:
- Opening Finder > Applications > UNLV IT Support
- Opening Launchpad > UNLV IT Support
- Opening Spotlight Search > Search "UNLV IT Support"
Support Hub will then appear as a pop-up near the icon:
Still cannot find Support Hub?
Your device may not be enrolled in device management. Please contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.
Using Support Hub
Each tile in Support Hub either provides information about your device or opens a shortcut to another action:
- Computer Name
- Default: Shows your computer's name
- On mouse hover: Shows your computer's model and year
- On click: Opens About in System Settings
- macOS Version
- Default: Shows the version of macOS you are currently running. A notification dot will appear if an update is available
- On click: If updates are available, shows a list of updates, and a button to begin updates
- Network Information
- Default: Shows current connection to the network and your current IP address
- On click: Opens Network in System Settings
- Space Management
- Default: Shows percentage of disk space used
- On mouse hover: Shows total amount of disk space remaining
- On click: Opens Storage in System Settings
- UNLV Self Service
- On click: Opens Self Service application
- IT Help Desk
- On click: Opens the IT Help Desk contact information
- Submit a Ticket
- On click: Opens the IT Support Portal to submit a ticket
- View My Tickets
- On click: Opens your Ticket Requests in the IT Support Portal
- Knowledge Base
- On click: Opens our Knowledge Base in the IT Support Portal
