Locating Software
Applications shown in screenshots may vary from what is displayed on your device.
macOS uses the UNLV Self Service app to perform self-service installs.

This can be located in one of the following places:
- Dock > Launchpad
- Finder > Application
- Spotlight Search > Search "Self Service"
If you don't see the self service app, please contact the IT Help Desk to have the app installed.
Find Software to Install:
- In Featured on the Home screen:

- Or by selecting a category in the Browse menu:

- Note: If a software is not listed in self service (SPSS, Adobe, Office), it likely already exists installed on the machine. To reinstall software with errors, remove the software and reboot the Mac. If the software still does not show up, or software center is missing, contact the IT Help Desk.
Installing Software
Select Install on the application you wish to install

A notification will display when installation has started. You can continue to use your device as the installation is completed.

Once installation has completed, another notification will display. The application should now be ready to launch. If you are not located on campus, the computer will need to be connected to the UNLV VPN to activate the software.

Reinstalling Software
Keep in mind, software will not show up in self service if it is already installed on the Mac. To reinstall software with the tool, you must first remove the software , and reboot the machine. On rare occasions, you may have to run the JAMF recon command so that JAMF knows that software is no longer installed. Open Terminal and run the command "sudo jamf recon" and reboot the machine once more to then use self service and reinstall software.
