Subscribing to UNLV and Rebelmail Calendars

The UNLV Academic calendars can be subscribed to and can be found here, https://www.it.unlv.edu/unlvmail/getting-started near the bottom of the page. To add a calendar using an email address:

  1. On the left side, find Other calendars and click the + icon, and choose Subscribe to calendar.
  2. In the Add calendar box, enter the other person's email address.
  3. Click Enter.
  4. Depending on how their calendar is shared, one of the following will happen:
    • If the calendar isn't shared with you, you'll see a form to request access.
    • If the calendar is already shared with you, their calendar will be added on the left side under "Other calendars."
    • If the other person doesn't have a Google Calendar, you'll see the option to invite them to use Google Calendar.

Creating a Secondary Calendar

You can create any number of secondary calendars. For example, you can set up a calendar for your work group or team to share. Each calendar you create appears in your list under My Calendars.

  1. On the left side, find Other calendars and click the + icon, and choose Create new calendar.
  2. In the Create new calendar window, enter a Calendar Name. You may also enter a Description, and select a Time Zone for the calendar. When you're finished setting up the calendar, click Create calendar.

Using a secondary calendar

After you create an additional calendar, it should now be visible in the My calendars section of your main calendar. If it doesn’t display immediately, you may need to refresh your browser window.

Now when you create a new event, you have the option of creating it on your personal calendar or on your additional calendar.

My Calendars vs Other Calendars

My calendars

This section includes calendars that you've created or have the ability to edit. Shared calendars will appear in this section only if you have permission to Make changes AND manage sharing. Your primary calendar will always be the first calendar listed in this section. (The primary calendar is the default calendar displayed when you first signed in to Google Calendar.)

Other calendars

You'll find public and shared calendars in this section of your calendar list. Keep in mind that you won't be able to edit or create events on any of these calendars. To add more calendars, simply click the drop-down arrow next to Other calendars to view the available options. (If you're an Apps user, this section will also list the calendars of other domain members that you've added to your calendar.)

Recover Deleted Events

When you delete an event you created or have edit access to, it stays in that calendar's trash for 30 days. When you go to the trash, you can restore events, or delete them forever.

Note: Anyone who has "Make changes to events" or "Make changes AND manage sharing" permission for the calendar can see and move events in the trash.

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the Gear icon  in the top right and select Trash.
  3. On the left side of the screen, you should see a list of calendars that you have access to. Select any available calendars, and you will see the events that were deleted from this calendar.
    1. To restore a single event, select the event and then click the Restore icon  that displays to the right of the individual item.
    2. To restore multiple events, select them all and click the Restore icon  that displays near the top of the selected items list.
