Blackboard

Blackboard readers use swipe/prox throughout various Student Life areas.

Though this system is not supported by Student Life Technology,  SLT collaborates with OIT to submit for access changes and troubleshooting issues--making your request process simple and easy.

Onity

Onity readers are often referred to as "dip locks", they are most prevalent in Student Life areas. Uses a card's magnetic stripe to confirm access from a card.

Salto

Salto readers use proximity to confirm a card's access, it is the newest card management system in Student Life. Cards will always need to be activated before use as it's data is read through an active chip in the card.

Card Encoding

Cards are eligible to be encoded once the access is processed, the requester will receive a completion notification.

The encoding enables access for Salto and Onity access control systems.
