Secure File Transfer offers an easy and secure way to send large files and works as an extension to UNLV's email service. This service can be used when you want to:
- Send large files (up to 2 GB total)
- Send files securely (the recipient must authenticate to download)
- Receive a confirmation when a recipient opens and downloads the content
All Staff, Students, and External Customers can use Secure File Transfer:
- UNLV customers can send messages internally (to other @unlv.edu and @unlv.nevada.edu emails), and externally (to non-UNLV emails such as @gmail.com)
- External customers can send messages to @unlv.edu emails
Additional features include:
- File Requests: A File Request is a way to request files from someone. When you've submitted their details, they will get an email with a unique link that can be used to send the requested files to you
- Download Log: The ability to view who downloaded what and when that was shared with them
For security reasons, some files cannot be sent with SFT: exe, vbs, pif, scr, bat, cmd, com, cpl
