You can transfer your email messages and Google Drive data from your UNLVMail (@unlv.edu) or Rebelmail (@unlv.nevada.edu) account to a personal @gmail.com or a Rebel Alumni Mail (@alumni.unlv.edu) account by using Google Takeout. To transfer your data:
If you are transferring data to a Rebel Alumni Mail (@alumni.unlv.edu), you can only transfer Gmail content as Drive is not supported for Alumni email.
- Open a new incognito/private window from your preferred browser.
- Sign into your UNLVMail or Rebelmail account.
- Go to https://takeout.google.com/transfer.
- Enter your @gmail.com or @alumni.unlv.edu address as the destination account.
- Select SEND CODE, then Google will send an email with a verification code to the account you entered before
- Type in the verification code that you received and select VERIFY.
- Select the data you wish to transfer then select START TRANSFER.
The amount of time it takes for the transfer to complete depends on how much data you have stored in your UNLVMail or Rebelmail account. You do not need to keep the page open as this process happens in the cloud. You will receive an email notification once the transfer is complete.
