Installing ArcGIS Pro 3

ArcGIS is an integrated collection of GIS software products for spatial analysis, data management, and mapping. Users with access to ArcGIS though UNLV also gain access to ArcGIS Online.

Before you begin

System Requirements

To install ArcGIS Pro, you will need:

  • A Windows device meeting ArcGIS Pro system requirementsThere is no macOS version of ArcGIS Pro.
  • An Active UNLV ArcGIS Online account
  • An Internet connection to download and activate ArcGIS Pro.

Downloading installer files

You will need a link to download the installer files:

  • F/S and Students will receive the download link when they are granted access to ArcGIS Online.
  • If your instructor has requested a classroom license for your course, your instructor will send you the download link.

If you have lost the download link or need help accessing the link, submit a software help request for assistance.

Install ArcGIS Pro 3 for Windows

Once you have downloaded the installer files:

  1. From your downloads folder, launch the installer dotnet-sdk-6.0.407-win64.exe.
  2. When the installer screen appears, select Install. Once complete, select Close
  3. From your downloads folder, launch the installer ArcGISPro_3.2.exe.
  4. On the Destination Folder for Files screen, select where you wish to extract the installation files (this will not install ArcGIS yet). In most cases, you can leave this as the default and select Next
  5. Once the extraction process is done, confirm the box is checked for Launch the setup program then select Close.

  6. Once the main screen for the ArcGIS Pro installer appears, select Next, then select Next again.

  1. On the Master Agreement screen, select I accept the master agreement, then select Next.

  2. On the Installation Context screen, select Anyone who uses this computer (all users), then select Next.

  3. On the Destination Folder screen, leave the default setting, then select Next.

  4. On the Ready to Install the Program screen, uncheck the box for Click here to participate in the Esri User Experience Improvement program, then select Install.

  1. The installer will then run. Once complete, select Finish.

Activate ArcGIS Pro

Once ArcGIS Pro is installed, it must be activated with your ArcGIS Online account.

  1. Launch ArcGIS Pro 3.
  2. When the ArcGIS Sign In screen appears, towards the bottom, select Your ArcGIS organization's URL.

  1. Type in the following ArcGIS organization URL: unlvarcgisonline, then select Continue.
  2. Select UNLV.
  3. Sign in with your UNLV ACE Account.

Once ArcGIS Pro is activated, we recommend you run ArcGIS updates so you have the latest features and security patches installed for ArcGIS.
