Getting Started with Zoom AI Companion

Meeting Summary with Zoom AI Companion uses AI technology and allows meeting hosts to initiate an AI-generated summary of their meeting

Enabling AI Companion 

In order to use AI Companion Meeting Summary, you need to enable and configure it in your account settings.

  1. Log into your UNLV Zoom account
  2. On the left-hand navigation, select Settings
  3. Select AI Companion tab
  4. For the Meeting Summary with AI Companion Setting, turn the radio button to the ON position

You can select options for summary sharing, and choose if you would like Meeting Summary to automatically start for all the meetings you host.

Using AI Companion in a Meeting

After starting a Zoom meeting, look for the AI Companion button icon in the Zoom Meeting control.

You can start or stop the AI Companion meeting summary using the in-meeting controls. The summarization of the meeting only begins when the host or co-host clicks Start Summary. Participants will see a notification when the meeting summary has started. If the host enabled Meeting Summary for their meetings, any meeting participants can request the host to start it for the current meeting.

Start Meeting Summary as the Host

  1. Start a meeting.
  2. On the in-meeting controls, click Summary.
  3. The meeting summary will begin to be generated, and participants will see a notification informing them that Meeting Summary is active.
  4. Click Stop Summary to end generating the summary of the current meeting.
  5. Once the meeting has ended, the meeting summary will be finalized
  6. From there the host can choose to send it out for viewing.

Request Meeting Summary as a Participant

  1. Join a meeting.
  2. In the meeting control toolbar, click Summary.
  3. If not currently enabled for the meeting, the participant will be prompted to request feature enablement.
  4. Click Send Request.
  5. The request will be sent to the host.
