- Instructors can grade/store submissions in Google Assignment OR Canvas.
- Instructors can attach Google files to an assignment so that each student gets their own editable copy to submit.
- Instructors can utilize Google's plagiarism checker to view originality reports for student submissions.
- Instructors can add Google Drive files to WebCampus Modules.
- All users can embed Google Drive files in the WebCampus rich content editor.
- Students can submit Google Drive files to WebCampus assignments (if enabled by the instructor).
- Allows users to share or collaborate with others across Google domains (Rebelmail & UNLV Mail) without having to modify the share settings in Google.
Connecting Google Drive to WebCampus
Before using Google Assignments, users must connect their UNLVMail or Rebelmail account to their WebCampus profile
- In the left naviation of WebCampus, select Account
- Select Settings.
- Under Web Services, select Google Drive
- Select Authorize Google Drive Access
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your UNLVMail or Rebelmail account to WebCampus
WebCampus Assignments
With this option, students can submit Drive files that you can grade with WebCampus' Speedgrader. This option is most similar to standard assignments within WebCampus.
When creating or editing an assignment in your WebCampus course, make the following changes:
- Under Submission Type drop down, select Online.
- Select File Uploads under the Online Entry Options.
When students go to submit the assignment, a Google Drive LTI 1.3 tab will appear. Students can follow instructions from Canvas to select a file to submit.
You can create an online assignment that embeds a document directly from your Google Drive folder. With this option, Instructors will be presented with two options for grading and storing assignment submissions:
- Google Assignments: All submissions will be stored in both the student's and instructor's Google Drive and will count against the Google Drive storage quota. Grading is done in Google Assignments and the score will pass back to the WebCampus gradebook.
- SpeedGrader: All submissions are stored in WebCampus and grading is done using SpeedGrader.
