UNLV Faculty, Staff, and Students can access Microsoft Office 365 to download and install Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for Home Use. This benefit is available to active UNLV Faculty, Staff, and Students.
Please note: By default, Part-Time Instructors and Emeritus do not receive access to the locally installed version of Office 365. However, if you are currently teaching a course, you may request a license for the software.

OneNote backup
If you are using the OneNote desktop application and try to sync your data it will not work because the old tenant is no longer in use. Any changes made to the OneNote Notebook on the desktop app after December 27th, 2024 will not sync with the cloud. Data that is saved on OneNote desktop application is local data saved on the device itself. UNLV IT does not have access to this data.
Please backup your data before making any changes to your OneNote Notebooks. Do not close your Notebooks, try syncing, or signing out as you may lose your data.
Exporting most recent OneNote Notebooks:
- Open OneNote on the desktop and open the Notebook to export.
- Select File on the top left corner.
- Select Export then Export Current: NoteBook and select OneNote package.

Importing OneNote package file:
- Access UNLV OneDrive via the web browser by going to the Microsoft 365 portal via https://ace.unlv.edu/ or https://portal.office.com/.
- Upload the previously exported OneNote package file onto your UNLV OneDrive.
