You must sign in using UNLV's Qualtrics link

Because Qualtrics uses ACE to sign in, you won't be able to sign in from qualtrics.com. You can sign in to Qualtrics at it.unlv.edu/qualtrics.

Qualtrics is a research survey suite available for UNLV faculty, staff, and students through a university-wide site license.  Qualtrics makes it easier for the campus community to create surveys, conduct research, collect and store data, and create reports. 

Qualtrics is easy-to-use yet powerful enough to satisfy most researchers.  Tutorials, webinars, and useful documentation are all available via the Qualtrics XM Basecamp site (accessibile after logging in to Qualtrics), which includes their online training program to help you master Qualtrics.  Qualtrics provides the direct support for this product (also available after logging in to Qualtrics), but the IT Help Desk can help with account administration (registration, logging in, etc.).

Registering for Qualtrics

Current Faculty, Staff, and Students can create a Qualtrics account by signing in with ACE though our UNLV Qualtrics home page. You'll sign in with ACE to access Qualtrics going forward. For help with your ACE Account, see ACE Account

Frequently Asked Questions

I am having trouble with my survey and have questions - who can I contact for assistance?

When logged in to your Qualtrics account, click the ? button in the top right hand corner of your browser window, and choose Contact Support. Their survey experts can take a look at the specific survey and provide assistance with your request.

I am limited in the number of surveys and/or responses in my account; can these be increased?

You have very likely signed up for a limited "trial" or free account instead of a UNLV-affiliated account. You may visit the Qualtrics Support Center to request an account migration/upgrade to the UNLV brand. Once your account has been successfully migrated, most of the limitations you were experiencing should be removed. These account migrations must be requested by the account owner directly via Qualtrics Support.

How do I transfer ownership of a survey from my account to someone else?

Survey owners may submit a service request to transfer ownership to someone else.

What if the survey owner is no longer an employee at UNLV?

Please submit a request with all of the relevant details, including the survey owner’s name, along with the names of any surveys that need to be transferred.

What if I need to send a survey out to more than 5,000 people?

Submit a service request and the Qualtrics brand administrator will reach out to discuss the details with you.

Need Additional Help?

Qualtrics provides direct support for their product as part of our campus license with them. Customers can receive support by chat, email, or phone call (they will receive a call from a Qualtrics agent after submitting a ticket.)

Qualtrics also provides a variety of self-paced training options, including recorded webinars that highlight many of the features via their "XM Basecamp" website. To access this material, you'll first need to log in to your account. You can then click the ? button in the top right hand corner of your browser window, and choose Take courses on XM Basecamp. When registering for any classes, you'll follow these steps:

  1. Click Register
  2. Click Qualtrics Credentials
  3. Click "Sign in with SSO" near the bottom
  4. Type "unlv" for the organization ID and click Continue
  5. Choose Staff / Group OR Student ACE account
  6. Authenticate with ACE and you should get passed through successfully
