Installing the KACE agent (Desktop Management Software)

KACE is OIT's desktop management client that centrally manages most UNLV-barcoded devices. It helps OIT provide security updates and software to UNLV devices. The KACE agent is installed on university-barcoded laptop and desktop computers, including devices used by Faculty and Staff. It can be used on Windows and macOS and Windows devices, but is not available for Chrome OS or Linux operating systems.

Installation Instructions

Employees can check with the IT Help Desk to ensure the KACE agent is installed on their UNLV laptop or desktop
computer. If the agent is not on the device, the IT Help Desk can assist with the installation. Faculty and staff
can also manually install the agent on their university computer by following the step-by-step instructions.
