General Service Changes
What is changing with the LastPass password manager service?
In 2023, UNLV began offering LastPass Premium and Business accounts to the university community. After reviewing usage, we found that the university's LastPass licenses were not widely used, so we decided to not renew the contract. As a result, UNLV will no longer offer LastPass after July 31, 2025.
Is UNLV offering a different product?
We are working to ensure all Business users are converted to free LastPass accounts, and Premium as a Perk or Families as a Benefit accounts will automatically revert to free accounts. Otherwise, you may choose a different password management tool of your choice.
Employee (LastPass Business) Accounts
What happens to my LastPass Business account after July 31, 2025?
You will get notified to reset your master password through the IT Help Desk since you won't be able to use your ACE login to access LastPass after July 31. If you do not contact us for a password reset, access to your vault will end on July 31 and your data will be deleted.
Once your account is converted, you can use it as a free account or upgrade to a premium plan.
With a free account, you can still access your passwords and stored information in your vault, but you will lose access to shared folders, secure notes, and other Business features. Please watch for messages from us so we can help make this transition as smooth as possible for you.

How do I reset my master password to keep my account?
Contact the IT Help Desk or request a password reset appointment to create a new master password for your account before July 31.
Can I pay for my own LastPass Business account?
Yes. Be sure to reset your master password through the IT Help Desk. Then, your department should contact LastPass business at (866) 890-6809 for licensing after July 31. View LastPass features and plan options.
What happens to my LastPass passwords, notes, and other data?
If you do nothing, all your LastPass data will be unavailable beginning August 1. UNLV IT will not be able to assist in retrieving your data. Please contact the IT Help Desk to have your account converted so that you can retain your vault after July 31.
We recommend exporting your LastPass data to a safe location and contacting the IT Help Desk for assistance with converting your Business account as soon as possible.
What happens to my LastPass family accounts?
If you sent Families and a Benefit invitations, those accounts will have a 30-day trial of LastPass Families. If they decide not to purchase a subscription when the trial end, the account will convert to a free account, without any premium features.
What can I do if I didn't export my passwords and LastPass is unavailable?
LastPass is unable to assist with data recovery and your Business vault data will be deleted if your account has not been converted to a free account.
If you didn't export your LastPass Business account vault, after July 31 you will need to reset your account passwords through each site's reset process.
Please contact the IT Help Desk to have your account converted as soon as possible.
