Workday is provided by Business Affairs and supported by various teams and individual departments. The IT Help Desk can assist customers with logging in to Workday. The IT Help Desk is unable to assist customers with usage of Workday, including hire status, business processes, or other functions. Please refer to the contact information at the end of this article.
Workday access is controlled by an active contract not your ACE account. If your contract date has ended or your contract has been terminated you will be unable to login even if you have an active ACE account. Terminated employees can access workday through the Former Employee Portal. See section below.
Workday is a cloud-based application that automates, streamlines, and standardizes business processes in human resources and financial management at UNLV making it easier and faster to submit and track changes. Workday is the central application for human resources, payroll, and finance.
Accessing Workday
You must be an active employee to login with your ACE Account. Refer to the Faculty / Staff section of this article for when your ACE Account will be ready. If you cannot login, contact the IT Help Desk.
- Go to either...
- unlv.edu/workday, then select Log in to Workday
- myworkday.com/nshe
- Select Active NSHE Community Members
- Select UNLV
- Sign in with your ACE Account
You can also go to ace.unlv.edu, then after you sign in, select Workday.
To maintain the security and privacy of your account, Workday requires the use of
ACE Multifactor authentication. If you have not yet set it up, you will be prompted to do so.
Troubleshooting
Your ACE Account is generated the morning after your hire process is fully completed. Refer to the Faculty / Staff section of this article for when your ACE Account will be ready.
I see Sign in failed when I try to login
Your ACE username or password is likely not correct. Your ACE username is not your NSHE ID or Employee ID. It usually contains a portion of your name. Contact the IT Help Desk if you need a password reset.
I see an 403 App Not Assigned Error
If you see a 403 App Not Assigned message, your ACE Account is working, however, your employee status is not linked to your ACE Account.
If you are a new hire:
- Confirm if your hire process has been fully completed. If it is fully completed, you should have received an email from Workday to complete on-boarding tasks. Your ACE Account will be updated the morning after you receive this email. You may also contact your hiring department's recruiter or HR Partner for your current hire status.
- If your hire process is complete, contact the IT Help Desk for further investigation.
If you are a former employee, you will need to login as a Former NSHE Community Member using the instructions above.
I see a Password expired message from Workday
If you see this message, but did not see the 403 App Not Assigned message, there may be a technical problem with your account. Please contact the IT Help Desk.
