Another method of communication is to add comments to assignment submissions. Both student and instructor roles are able to add comments to submissions.
Instructions for Instructors
Instructors can add comments to student submissions in either the Gradebook or in the SpeedGrader. In the Gradebook, you will only be able to add text in the comments. If you would like to add a file or a media comment, then you will need to add the comment in the SpeedGrader. Select one of the links below to see the Canvas guide:
Instructions for Students
Students can view and add comments for their submissions by going to the Grades page. A detailed guide on how to view comments from instructors can be found in this Canvas guide.
