Allowable Content
Due to the nature of the Knowledge Base module, the Campus Services Governance committee has set standards for allowable internal and public content.
Any public content published within the Knowledge Base should supplement services within the Service Catalog by providing opportunities for self-service, clarifying requester requirements, or highlighting service-related policies.
Departments may internally publish any content with a retention period of Until Superseded as defined by the Nevada System of Higher Education Records Retention and Disposition Schedule. This retention period pertains to content that is routinely updated and therefore, superseded by the current version.
Distinguishing Internal and Public Content
As stated within the Knowledge Article Approval Process article, departments may publish their internal content to the Knowledge Base. All public content must be approved and posted by the Client Portal Administrator.
Internal content is any article shared with a select number of departmentally managed User Groups. Departments may request the creation of user groups while implementing the Knowledge Base or through the TeamDynamix support catalog. Departments seeking to maintain an internal library within the Knowledge Base will be granted an "Owned Category". This category will be shared with a set list of user groups and shall be maintained by the department.
Public content is defined as any article shared with all UNLV Staff or Students or shared publicly with all website visitors. Departments may request the publication of public articles through the TeamDynamix support catalog.
