Requesting Temporary or Extended Access a Faculty / Staff Member

Faculty / Staff accounts are automatically suspended on the last day of employment. In the event the department needs to provide the former employee with temporary or extended access, they can request it from the IT Help Desk.

This process is not for gaining access to an employee's account

This process does not allow a supervisor or department to access a former employee's account. This process is only to only request on behalf of the former employee temporary or extended access to their account. Access will only be provided to the owner of the account. Please contact the IT Help Desk for more information.

Requesting Access

There are two ways to activate someone's access, either by being active in Workday, or requesting an extension.

Workday

Depending on the circumstances, the user may need to be entered into Workday as a Registered Volunteer or a Temporary Worker. Please consult with HR on this option. If the employee is added to Workday as a temporary employee, or registered volunteer, this will keep ACE and UNLVmail access open for as long as they are under this status.

Requesting Extension

If this employee will not have any active status in Workday, you will need to request an override from the IT Help Desk. These requests are processed on a case-by-case basis.
