System Requirements & Supported Browsers

Canvas supports the current and first previous major releases of most web browsers. Please visit Canvas' browser and computer requirements page to ensure you have the minimum requirements for using WebCampus.

You may also download Canvas Student app for Android and iOS devices.

Global Navigation Menu and the Dashboard

The Global Navigation Menu is located on the left side of every page in WebCampus. Global navigation links provide quick access to frequently used features such as the Dashboard, Courses, Groups, Calendar, Inbox, User Account, and the Help menu.

The Dashboard is the landing page after you log in to WebCampus and gives you quick and easy access to see what is happening in all your courses. Your Dashboard Sidebar will also appear on the right and will contain your To Do list, Calendar events, links to recent feedback, and buttons for viewing grades.

Accessing Your Courses

Can't see your courses? Missing a course?

First, make sure you are enrolled in the course in MyUNLV.
Did you make a change to your schedule today? WebCampus should update within 4-6 hours.
Contact the IT Help Desk if you need immediate assistance

If you are enrolled in the course, and you didn't make the change today, your course may be unpublished by your instructor. Check your syllabus or contact your instructor to see when the course should be published. Only instructors can publish a course for students. Some instructors may not be using WebCampus. Check your syllabus or contact your instructor to verify if they will be using WebCampus.

Courses will be visible to students 1 week prior to the start date listed in MyUNLV. Any changes to course enrollments in MyUNLV will be reflected in WebCampus within 4-6 hours during the current semester, and 12-24 hours the remainder of the year. Courses will be hidden from students 2 weeks after the semester ends.

You can access your courses in WebCampus via the Courses tab [4] in the Global Navigation menu or from the WebCampus dashboard [5]. Click on the title of your course to enter the course homepage

How to Change Your Notification Settings

WebCampus includes a set of default notifications for your courses that can be modified. The settings only apply to your account. Notifications from the Account level apply to all of your courses, but you can set notifications for individual courses as well.

To modify your account level notification settings:

  1. In the Global Navigation menu, click Account
  2. Click Notifications
  3. Click on the icon below the notification method to change the frequency of the notification type
    • Notify immediately – Receive notifications right away. These notifications may be delayed by up to one hour in case an instructor makes additional changes, which prevents you from being spammed by multiple notifications in a short amount of time
    • Daily summary – receive a daily summary for this notification type
    • Weekly summary – receive a weekly summary for this notification type
    • Notifications off – no notifications sent for this notification type
