Panopto Playlists

Panopto playlists allow instructors to pull videos from multiple folders and sequence videos in a specific order. This can be used to have students in multiple, un-related courses to watch the same content.

Before You Begin

Before you can move or copy content, instructors must perform the following:

  1. Videos have been edited for FERPA compliance, such as removing or disguising any student participation
  2. Videos have been captioned per UNLV Accessibility Standards and Procedures.
  3. Reviewed all options for reusing Panopto content before proceeding with these instructions
Caution: Will students be engaging with the content?

If your content contains quiz questions, or you want students to engage with the video such as posting to the discussion board, you may want to consider using Reference Copies instead. Reference Copies allow you to keep the content the same for all students, but engagement such as quiz results and discussion posts are individualized for each course.

Refer to these instructions regarding reference copies. To utilize reference copies, refer to the Manual Copy instructions.

Moving Videos to Your My Folder

Before you can create a playlist, we strongly recommend moving your content to your "My Folder." The process is the same as moving any video, but you will select the "My Folder" as the destination.

  2. In the left navigation, select Panopto Recordings.
    1. If you do not see Panopto Recordings, you will need to activate it.
  3. Select Create, then Playlist.

  4. Enter a playlist name, verify your folder is correct, and add a description. Then, select Create.
