Panopto offers instructors a central location to place content and have it accessed by multiple courses. If you plan on reusing content frequently, or sharing access to videos after a term is complete, this will make sharing content much easier.
Before You Begin
Before you can move or copy content, instructors must perform the following:
- Videos have been edited for FERPA compliance, such as removing or disguising any student participation
- Videos have been captioned per UNLV Accessibility Standards and Procedures.
- Reviewed all options for reusing Panopto content before proceeding with these instructions
Accessing your "My Folder"
- Go to WebCampus and open any course.
- In the left navigation, select Panopto Recordings.
- If you do not see Panopto Recordings, you will need to activate it.
- Select Open in a new tab to launch the full version of Panopto
- Once you are in the full version of Panopto, select the My Folder option on the left navigation bar
Moving Content to your "My Folder"
You can move content into your "My Folder" the same as moving content to another course folder. When following moving content instructions, select your "My Folder" instead of another folder.
Moving or Copying Content to a Course
The same moving content instructions can be applied when moving content out of your "My Folder" to a course folder. Simply select the course folder to move the content to.
If you would like the same video to appear in multiple courses, we recommend one of the following methods:
- Creating a Reference Copy
- This is the best option if your video will be the same for all courses, but you want to individualize items such as quiz results and discussion posts
- Creating a Panopto Playlist
- This is the best option if you have multiple videos you want students to view in sequence
Sharing Content from your My Folder
If you wish to share content with others, especially if you will allow students to watch content after the conclusion of the course, you can share content from your "My Folder."
Sharing content is the same as any other video in Panopto.
